St.Marys Magherafelt 1-16 St.Josephs Donaghmore 0-13
Two sides who had won their opening games in this season’s MacRory Cup went head to head at Brocagh on Thursday 13th November with St.Marys Magherafelt coming out on top against a St.Josephs Donaghmore side who had led 0-10 to 1-4 at halftime.
St.Josephs started the game well to establish a 0-6 to 0-2 lead thanks to points from Larry Shields (2), Finbar Quinn and a Ruairi O’Neill two pointer. Liam McLernon then grabbed the only goal of the game and after Emmet Heagney and Tony O’Hagan had swapped points Adam Cushnahan had the final say of the half from a two point free.
The Derry school landed four points in a many minutes on the restart from Cathair McBride, Ronan Birt and O’Hagan. Cushnahan and Ultan Quinn had points for the Tyrone lads but Michael Higgins took his personal haul to 0-6 with Birt also on target as St.Marys made it two wins out of two.
