Leonard Cup Update

D’athraigh cúrsa an chluiche sa dara leath nuair a bhí an ghaoth linn. Bhí lámh in uachtar againn ach faraor chuir muid roinnt deiseanna maithe amú. Nuair a rinneadh feall ar Felix, sheol Brogan poc saor fada thar an trasnán le comhscór a bhaint amach. Go gairid ina dhiaidh sin, fuair Odhrán cúilín cinniúnach an bhua.

Sa dara cluiche, chaill muid in éadan CPC Bhaile an Chaistíl. Mar thoradh air sin, chríochnaigh muid sa dara háit sa ghrúpa.

Beidh muid ag imirt in éadan fhoireann chomhcheangailte scoileanna an Iúir i ndiaidh leath-théarma.

Buíochas le Claire Fawl a thóg na gghraif iontacha

The Leonard hurling team enjoyed a successful day out in Maghera during the week. Their opening game was against St Patrick’s. Despite being without a couple of players, the boys produced a strong performance and secured a deserved victory. The wind played a significant role throughout the match, and we trailed by three points at half-time.

With the advantage of the wind in the second half, GCD took control of the game but were guilty of missing a number of good scoring opportunities. After Felix was fouled, Brogan calmly converted a long-range free to level the scores before Odhrán struck the winning point to seal the victory.

The second game saw GCD come up against CPC Ballycastle. Despite a determined display, they were defeated and finished second in their group.

The team will now face the amalgamated Newry schools side after the half-term break.
