Hurling All-Stars
Introducing our Danske Bank Ulster Schools Hurling All-Stars for 2026

1. Current Antrim U20 Goalkeeper, Seán Óg McLaren takes this year’s No.1 position. Having represented St Mary’s CBS in the Danske Bank Mageean and Kirk Cups, the Naomh Pól player has won Minor league and championship with his club, and has been successful in the Antrim Poc Fada, going on to compete at Ulster and All-Ireland level.

2. Following in his father’s footsteps, Conor McCann of St Killian’s takes the corner-back position. Conor, a former QUB Future Star, has won a Danske Bank Mageean Cup just as his father once did, he won club championships with Ruairí Óg Cushendall, and represented Antrim with distinction winning Ulster titles at U17 and U20 level.

3. With the success of St Patrick’s Keady in the Danske Bank Casement Cup over the last two years, Conor Lappin who produced incredible displays, is selected in the full-back position. The Middletown player has won Minor championships with his club and has been successful in the Celtic Challenge with Armagh GAA.

His father was a successful dual-player, winning Ulster titles. Emmet Óg is also a dual-player with his club Kevin Lynch’s, claiming county Minor medals in both codes last year. He represented the school in the Danske Bank Casement Cup and Shield competitions.

5. Dan Donnelly has the honour of becoming the first Danske Bank Ulster Schools Hurling All-Star for St Columba’s, Stranorlar as he is selected at No.5. The defender helped his club Seán Mac Cumhaills become the first Donegal team to reach the Ulster Minor Club Hurling final in December, the same month he starred for St Columba’s in their journey to the Danske Bank Casement Shield final.

6. After producing impressive performances for St Patrick’s Maghera in the Danske Bank Mageean Cup and All-Ireland Paddy Buggy final, Odhrán Doherty is selected at centre half-back. The dual-star who plays his club hurling with Sleacht Néill, won an Antrim Minor football championship with Portglenone in 2025, and has achieved sporting success with the school in the Leonard Cup and Forester’s Cup.
