History of Ulster Colleges Hurling
October 25, 2023Pictured is the St Malachy’s College Belfast hurling team that won the very first Ulster Schools’ senior hurling title in 1953.
The prize at the time was the “Senior Shield” and it remained the prize until the Mageean Cup was presented in 1963 in memory of Dr Mageean, Bishop of Down and Connor, who had died on January 17 1962.
