Hurler of The Month – January 2026

 PLAYER OF THE MONTH 

Alongside our sponsors, Danske Bank, Ulster Schools GAA recognises the achievements of a young player every month from across the spectrum of ongoing games and competitions.

For January, our Hurling Player of the Month is Cillian Rafferty from St Patrick’s Grammar School Armagh 

A member of Cuchulainn Hurling Club, Armagh, and a corner-forward for his school, Cillian was nominated following a series of outstanding all-round performances throughout the competition. His ability to win primary possession, coupled with his powerful, direct running and willingness to take on players, made him a constant threat. Cillian was consistently among the top scorers and played an integral part in the school’s success in winning the Leopold Cup
