Danske Bank O’Doherty Cup quarter-finals
Magh Ene College, Bundoran 3-21 Dean Maguirc College, Carrickmore 1-5
St Mary’s Clady 3-8 Largy College, Clones 2-5
There are two Derry schools through to different semi-finals in the Danske Bank O’Doherty Cup.
St Mary’s Limavady had already qualified earlier last week, snatching a single-point win at the death in their quarter-final against Ballybay CC and yesterday they were joined by an impressive St Mary’s Clady who defeated Largy College Clones by 3-8 to 2-5
In a tight game in windy conditions, Ryan Convery’s first half goal gave Clady an interval lead of 1-4 to 1-2 and they pulled away during the second half with further goals from Seamus Fintan Bradley and Brogan McLafferty.
Tommy Monaghan hit a goal in each half for Largy, but it’s Clady that are lined up to face Aquinas in the semi-finals, while Limavady face the daunting task of Magh Ene College Bundoran towards the end of this week.
Magh Ene ran in 3-21 to Dean Mag Uirc’s 1-5 in their game with goals from Niall Carr and Conor McLoone.
Although Adrian Donnelly hit back with a Carrickmore goal, Magh Ene finished the half strongly with another goal (from Reece Brennan) to lead by 3-11 to 1-5 at half-time.
With the wind at their backs in the second half, they continued to score with ease and will now be a strong bet for the title.

Coláiste Cholmcille Ballyshannon 1-13 Rathmore Grammar 1-8
St Patrick’s Keady 7-15 Loreto Milford 1-5
Coláiste na Carraige Carrick 4-11 Holy Cross Strabane 1-5
In yesterday’s Danske Bank Markey Cup quarter-finals, Coláiste Cholmchille Ballyshannon, St Patrick’s Keady and all joined St Joseph’s Donaghmore in the semi-finals.
Coláiste Cholmchille Ballyshannon did the damage in the last ten minutes of the opening half, when they hit six unanswered pointed to lead 0-9 to 0-2 at half-time, including three for impressive midfielder Dean Carroll.
A goal from Dylan Gallagher ten minutes into the second half left the Ballyshannon side well in control to fend off a Rathmore fightback with Malachy Doherty and Dara Matthews leading the charge.
Ballyshannon have a quick turnaround with St Joseph’s Donaghmore the semi-final opponents this Thursday in Garvaghey (11.45am).
Also yesterday Coláiste na Carraige Carrick scored an impressive 4-11 to 0-9 win over Holy Cross Strabane in Ballyshannon.
Lanty Molly shot 2-2 of that total and there was also impressive score taking from Shane Gillespie 1-4, Paddy McShane 1-1 and Aaron O’Doherty 0-3.
They will now play St Patrick’s Keady who were very impressive in their 7-15 to 1-5 win over Loreto Milford. This second semi-final is scheduled for Friday.
