St Patrick’s Cavan 3-16 St Michael’s Enniskillen 2-10
Danske Bank MacRory Cup, Group A, Tempo

St Patrick’s Cavan came from behind after the interval to win their opening Group A game, taking the first points of this year’s MacRory Cup campaign.

Cavan trailed by four points shortly after the restart, having conceded two goals and a point in the first five minutes of the second half. Over the final 25 minutes they outscored Enniskillen by 2-8 to 0-2.

The opening quarter was cagey, with St Michael’s leading 0-4 to 0-2 thanks in part to a two-pointer from Eoin McTernan. Cavan pushed on in the middle of the half, and although Lorcán McGrath answered with a two-pointer for Enniskillen, the Fermanagh school were behind by 1-8 to 0-7 at the break.

The Fitzpatricks, R and S, each hit a goal for St Michael’s and gave Cavan a real scare at the start of the second half. Enniskillen could not keep it going, though. Simon Kolimar sealed the win with Cavan’s third goal five minutes from time. Jay Graham led the way for Cavan with seven points.
