Footballer of The Month – January 2026

Alongside our sponsors, Danske Bank, Ulster Schools GAA recognises the achievements of a young player every month from across the spectrum of ongoing games and competitions.

For January, our Football Player of the Month is Darragh Gilleece from Saint Mogue’s College 

A member of St Aidan’s Templeport and a full forward for his school, Darragh delivered exceptional performances in the U19 Ward Cup knockout stages, whilst also playing a starring captain’s role in the U16.5 Mulholland Cup Final. His ability to score two-pointers was crucial in his side’s win in the Mulholland Final, whilst he defied his age by showing real trickery and class to establish himself as a potent forward at U19 level
